Instant funding sounds like the obvious choice: why take a test when you can start funded? The answer is in the rules. Skipping the assessment changes how the drawdown works, what has to happen before you are paid, and what it costs.
- Evaluation: pass a test first, then trade a funded account, often with a looser drawdown.
- Instant funding: funded from day one, but the drawdown usually trails and there may be buffers before a first payout.
- Instant funding costs more per dollar of capital, because the firm takes the risk without a test.
- The right choice depends on your style, not on which sounds faster.
The key difference: the drawdown
Our One Step evaluation uses a 6% static drawdown: the floor never moves, so profits give you more room. Instant Funding uses an 8% trailing drawdown: the floor follows your high point, so you can fail while in profit. Why that matters.

When instant funding makes sense
- You already trade consistently and do not want to spend weeks on a test.
- Your style rarely gives back large open profits, so a trailing drawdown does not bite.
- You want to start earning from the first cycle.
When an evaluation makes more sense
- You hold trades through pullbacks and want a floor that does not chase you.
- You want the lowest cost per dollar of account size.
- You prefer no time pressure: One Step and Two Step have no time limit.
On Instant Funding you can trade before completing KYC. Do it early anyway: a failed KYC at the point of withdrawal rejects the withdrawal, forfeits the gains and closes the account.
How TradePath handles it
We offer both, with every rule published before checkout. Instant Funding carries a maximum active allocation of $190,000 per person, one of each plan size. Compare every plan.
Common questions
Is instant funding better than an evaluation?
Not automatically. It saves the test but usually has a trailing drawdown and costs more per dollar of capital. Traders who hold through pullbacks often do better on a static-drawdown evaluation.
Does instant funding have a profit target?
No. You are funded from the start. On Instant Funding Lite, a 3% buffer and 25% consistency must be met before the first payout.
Can I hold more than one instant funding account?
At TradePath, up to $190,000 of active Instant Funding allocation per person, one of each plan size.
Trading involves substantial risk. TradePath evaluations and funded accounts are simulated. This guide is general education, not financial advice. Rules can change; the program rules for the product you buy are what apply.
