An equities evaluation is closer to how a day-trading desk works than an FX evaluation is. You trade a fixed session, you are flat by the close, and nothing you hold can gap against you overnight. That changes the rules, and a few of them change again once you are funded.
- You trade around 100 US large caps inside a single session, and must be flat by 15:55 ET.
- No overnight holding means no gap risk from earnings or news after the close.
- The daily profit cap in the assessment is a pause, not a breach.
- Once funded, a 25% consistency requirement applies and the profit cap goes away.

Flat by the close
Every position has to be closed by 15:55 ET. The upside is real: no overnight gaps, no earnings surprises while you sleep. The cost is that you cannot swing trade. If your edge depends on holding for days, equities is the wrong product for you.
The daily profit cap
In the assessment, making more than 2.5% in a day triggers a pause, not a fail. Trades over the cap are closed and you carry on the next day. It is a soft breach. Its job is to stop one outsized day from carrying the whole assessment.
The drawdown
The 3% max drawdown trails your closed balance, not open equity, so open profit you give back does not raise the floor. In the funded account it locks at your starting balance once you are up 3%. Drawdown types explained.
What changes when you are funded
Two things. The daily profit cap is dropped, and a 25% consistency requirement is added: your best day can be no more than 25% of total profit when you request a payout. How consistency is calculated. Payouts run every 14 days, with a $100 minimum.
Common questions
Can I hold stocks overnight with a prop firm?
Not on TradePath Equities. All positions must be closed by 15:55 ET, which removes overnight gap risk.
What happens if I exceed the daily profit cap?
It is a soft breach. Trades over the 2.5% cap are closed and trading pauses for the day. The account stays open.
How often are equities payouts?
Every 14 days once funded, with a minimum of $100.
Trading involves substantial risk. TradePath evaluations and funded accounts are simulated. This guide is general education, not financial advice. Rules can change; the program rules for the product you buy are what apply.
